August 2021 R&D of Distillery integrated farm

Began research and development for a farm system based  on Distillery and integration of waste into  secondary  products making it fully productive  and profitable. Starting  with a rum Distillery  and the waste  products of sugarcane   bagasse . As well as rum we will be making  Mango brandy ,Pineapple brandy , Cassava  Vodka and Cassava Whiskey.  Each  product  has its own unique waste  product  that lends itself to secondary  uses adding  value  to farm beyond just alcoholic beverages. 

August 2022 I returned focused on doing R&D for a Distillery with integrated farm for waste products

Starting with almost nothing except some rudimentary equipment I had previously sent to Ghana the year before. We put together a simplistic and rudimentary still converted a manual sugar cane crusher to a motorized unit and began sourcing products to begin basic investigation of operations

Researching basic sugar cane juice extraction

Beginning with rudimentary and sadly undersized sugarcane crushing equipment we researched production yields and volumes waste generated and various uses for said waste materials

We also developed both pineapple and mango Brandy and uses for the waste ingredients as well

We sourced local pineapples and mangoes primarily defective ones that were not marketable for export thereby giving farmers use of their subpar fruits increasing their revenue and making a value a product

Development of casava based products

We burned out two sugar cane crushers and while being rebuilt investigated making products out of garri a casava based product . It was difficult without a Brew kettle on site that could produce at least 15 gallons at a time and the necessary built-in thermometer to hit the ideal temperatures for starch conversion but managed to create product from this base which lent itself to making the West African whiskey
